Title: Sytematic Enrollment

Problem Statement: 

•  Poor computer system respond rate during enrollment

        The process of enrollment in choosing subjects turns longer because you wait longer before the computer respond or sometimes the system are down

Subjects needed by students already closed or have been dissolved

        Students who have only few subjects needed to enroll to complete their corresponding units in the school are sometimes facing difficulties during enrollment because of the Pay First Before Enrollment Policy

Students confused during enrollment period

        Students didnt know where to go during enrollment period because irregular students are belongs to the waiting room of srp cases

Root Causes OF The Problem:

• Misinformed students

• Outdated computer and system

• Pay first before enrollment procedure

The following are the problems encountered during enrollment:

On Student’s Enrollment

  • Slow process rate of scheduling for irregular students.

        Due to the massive irregular students the time consuming really affects specially when a student took a lot of his/her time on choosing his/her schedules.

  • The computer system doesn’t response very quickly.

         During that time all of the computers in the offices are working and probably the speed process is very much affected.

  • Credited subjects sometimes appear on the system as not credited.

        If this problem happens the students will face another long process just to solve the issue.

  • Pay the organization fee before you get the COR.

        Organization fees are costly and why not charge the student a week after or even a month after because the students had just payed thier tuition fees.

-To those secretaries also with a partial knowledge with regards to the enrollment process

-February 10, 2010 (we are planning to finalize all the steps in doing this proposal.)

-February 11-12, 2010 (finding students randomly and ask them if they have problems with regards to the enrollment process.)

-February 13, 2010 (we will proceed to program heads offices to ask questions which will probably solve our curiosity with regards to the problem of enrollment process.)

-February 14 onwards, 2010 (we will finalize our paper and probably will still do a lot of things in preparation for the final output.)

Based on our topic we really find many problems with regards to enrollment proess that’s why we chose it to be our topic.

Enrollment process in our school Far Eastern University really affect the students specially when enrollment comes, mainly because of the technical problems inside the offices of the Program heads of every Institute and probably it’s the students mistakes also that varies because most of the students cannot follow instructions when they are enrolling.

Based on my experience enrollment process in FEU really matters a lot because I myself when I tried enrolling it took most of my time and that’s the problem.

Our proposal aims to solve the problems of the enrollment process and that is done by doing consecutive research and asking some relevant questions to the program heads and randomly selected students who have problems with enrollment.

We thought that after the proposal and it’s been implemented to our school probably the problem would be solved as well as each and every students will be glad and thankful for the changes that’ll be made with regards to the enrollment process.

Requirements

Admission to the university requires students to satisfy the following:

  • Satisfactory completion of secondary education or its equivalent, e.g. Philippine Educational Placement Test (PEPT) or Non-Formal Equivalency test both given by the Department of Education.
  • Passing The FEU College Admissions Test (FEU-CAT).

Admission to the university is initially recommended and processed by the Admissions & External Relations Office (AERO) located at the ground floor of the Arts Building or the Technology Building Lobby, Visitor’s Lounge.

Enrollment to the university is a contractual relationship between the student and the university whereby the students agree to abide by the rules and regulations of the institution.

Application Procedure for the FEU-CAT

1. Secure a FEU-CAT application form from the following:

  • Application forms can be downloaded from this page. Please go to Download to download application form.
  • High School Guidance Offices
  • AERO, Ground Floor of the Arts Building
  • Technology Building Visitor’s Lounge

2. Fill out application form and attach 2 pieces of 2x2 colored ID pictures.
3. Pay the testing fee of P450 to the designated cashier.
4. Submit accomplished form to the designated AERO Staff members.
5. Get your receipt and schedule.
6. Take the FEU-CAT on your designated date, time and venue. (Do not forget to bring your official test receipt which will serve as your test permit.)

Reminder: No retake policy is strictly applied.

FEU-CAT Results

Results may be known through the following:

  • Notification letters to all examinees.
  • Official results posted in this website one (1) or two (2) working days after the testing date. Please check FEU-CAT Results under the bulletin in the home page.
  • Phoned-in inquiries, except for transferees to Nursing, Medical Technology & Physical Therapy.
  • Posted results in our bulletin boards located at the Technology Building lobby one (1) week before the start of the freshmen enrollment period.

Enrollment Requirements

Successful examinees are required to submit the following during enrollment:

  • Original Form 138 (4th year High School Report Card) or equivalent documents such as Permanent Record Card, Transcript of Student Progress, Certificate of Secondary Completion, PEPT record, GED Certificate, Certificate of High School Equivalence, etc.
  • Photocopy of the Birth Certificate.
  • Down payment for enrollment as indicated in the notification letter.

Note: Students with lost high school credentials should submit the following to the AERO:

  • Official Form 137 
  • Duly notarized Affidavit of Loss
  • Signed letter of explanation
